Zendium’s SLS-free formulation is gentle on the mouth
Surfactants have an important function in toothpaste
Most toothpastes contain surfactants, which help to create foam that loosens debris and makes cleansing easier. Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) is a common surfactant that has sensory and flavour benefits that many users appreciate. However, for other patients it can damage the soft tissues of the mouth, such as those with recurrent aphthous ulcers.
Zendium is SLS-free
Zendium’s formulation has been specially designed without sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). Instead, it contains a mild, low-foaming agent called stereath-30, which protects the delicate soft tissues of the mouth and also helps to maintain the integrity of the enzymes and proteins in Zendium toothpaste.
Zendium is clinically proven to be gentle to the mouth
A clinical study published in the Journal of Dentistry measured the impact of toothpastes containing SLS and steareth-30 on oral tissue. Thirty minutes after application, Zendium was 4X gentler on oral tissue than a toothpaste containing SLS, with fewer and less severe soft tissue lesions.*
Effect of SLS and stereath-30 on soft tissue lesions
The results demonstrate the mild yet effective approach to oral health that Zendium offers. Zendium has a subtle flavour and is suitable for patients with a delicate oral mucosa, including those with aphthous ulcers or a dry mouth, or those who prefer a gentler toothpaste.
